Alan Webster

Alan attended the pilot training seminar that resulted in the introduction of the StrategA approach throughout Lloyds Private Bank in 1992. It was clear from the outset that the StrategA (later Parallax) cube model provided behavioural insights that other models could not match. John had undertaken consultancy assignments for Lloyds Bank previously, reporting to Jim Cooper who had been appointed CEO of Lloyds Private Bank in 1991. Within a few months of the pilot seminar, Jim Cooper approved and encouraged the use of StrategA in the Private Bank. It remained in full operational use until 1996 when a new CEO with different ideas took over.

Alan knows that Cooper told John that StrategA had directly contributed to the bank's outstanding performance. Using StrategA benchmarks, Cooper and the Board recast the sales team from 72 to 50 between 1992 and 1995 whilst increasing sales by over 400%. They increased the profits of the Private Banking division from less than £1million in 1991 to £44 million in 1995. This earned Jim Cooper a promotion to Regional Director of Lloyds Bank. He retired in 1997.

Alan took early retirement in 1996 and joined StrategA as co director with primary responsibility for the IT development. Alan resigned from the board of StrategA in 2001 for personal reasons. During this period John's son, Chris, completed an M.Sc, his dissertation on Parallax earned him a distinction. Alan was delighted when Chris, following Alan's untimely exit, assumed full responsibility for I.T. in 2002. Alan continued to use the Parallax approach in 1:1 feedback and mentoring sessions, primarily helping Charities to become more effective, e.g. team building. When his personal circumstances changed and John asked him to consider joining his team once again, Alan accepted without hesitation.
